Research Interests: Status-signaling properties of self-esteem, fragile self-esteem, gender, and narcissism

Area of Specialization: Social-Personality Psychology

I am a social-personality psychologist with a 2010 Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. Since I have been at WCU, my research has focused primarily on the intrapersonal and interpersonal consequences of high self-esteem and narcissism. More recently, I have begun to further explore the status-signaling properties of self-esteem, as well as the effect of sexist humor on women’s state self-esteem and status-signaling.
